The Beauty Assembly was set up around an argument about the industry rather than about beauty itself. Its founder, Abra, started it because beauty therapists are typically underpaid unless they open their own salon, and opening one usually means a long lease and overheads they cannot carry. The answer was a shared, eco-conscious working space at Granary Wharf where independent therapists take their own clients without that financial risk.

Technology and brands

The product policy is absolute rather than partial: the salon is entirely vegan and cruelty free, with no exceptions kept for a favourite product. Nails run on The Gel Bottle Inc, including its Builder in a Bottle system, which builds length and strength over the natural nail instead of extending it with acrylic. Brow work covers both threading, which lifts hair cleanly from the root without product on the skin, and lamination for redirecting the way brow hair grows.

Team and stylists

The therapists here are independents working under one roof, which changes the relationship: you book with a specific person and stay with them, and they set their own standards rather than following a chain’s script.
